Short Stories

The Spy Who Came in From the East Coast A short story I wrote for the Close to the Bones anthology (release date July 15, 2017). In this story, CIA case officer Bai Hsu, who hasn’t been home to visit his disapproving family in seven years, braves their wrath and comes home for a four-day trip. When he arrives, he’s subjected to wall-to-wall guilt trips until his parents come to him with an unusual request: They need him to help his cousin escape the gang that’s been extorting her and her husband.

The Backyard Burger Murder A fiction novelette about a regular guy who attempts to solve the attempted murder of someone who was poisoned at his house. Free for download as a pdf!

Avarice A flash fiction (meaning less than 500 words) piece I submitted to the Line Zero flash fiction contest. It was one of three winners of that contest and published in the Line Zero literary journal in 2011.
